Add Hearth to your Home Screen
Last updated 27 July 2026
Hearth (hearthside.one) is a small tool families use to share household chores. We try to collect as little as possible, we don't run ads, and we never sell your information. This page explains, in plain terms, what we keep and why.
Only to run the app for you: show the right chores, let people log in, and send the reminders and recovery emails you ask for. That's the whole list.
Your data is hosted in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). A few trusted services help run specific features:
Hearth is set up and managed by an adult in the household, who adds the other family members — including children. That adult is responsible for the family members they add and for the small amount of information (a name, a colour) stored about them.
We keep your data for as long as your household exists. An adult can permanently delete the entire household and everything in it at any time from Settings → Danger zone — that erases every person, chore, plan, and reminder, and can't be undone.
To avoid holding on to data longer than needed, we may permanently delete a household that has gone unused for a long time — currently around 5 years with no activity. Where we can, we'll email the household's admin first so nothing disappears as a surprise.
You can see and correct your household's information inside the app, delete all of it yourself (above), and ask us for a copy. If you'd like help with any of that, email hello@hearthside.one.
